Spiced Buttermilk Is Not a Seasonal Drink.

Enjoy the health benefits by having it daily

Buttermilk, whether spiced or not, is becoming a typical drink among Asian countries. Spiced buttermilk is a common drink found all over India but known in different names.

I have known about this drink since childhood, and it is even shown in 1940’s movies as a welcome drink when somebody visits someone’s place or offered to somebody when too scorched from the summer hot.

It’s a yogurt drink, precisely a greek yogurt drink. It’s not sweet and often available on the restaurant’s menu. The hot or cold version can be easily prepared using a blender using cold or room temperature greek yogurt.

The reason why people include it in daily diet is due to its health benefits but may not like to eat yogurt as it is. Buttermilk is sour if it’s not blended with any spices of your choices, and it is believed that the spiced version acts as a healer.

Buttermilk contains lactic acid bacteria that support and boost our body immunity. As a natural source of calcium and vitamins, it is also high on proteins and carbohydrates. Buttermilk is vitamin dense but extremely low in fat.

This yogurt-based drink act as an antacid if you are suffering from acidity issues after a heavy meal. Have a drink rather than relying on acidic pills also helps to cool-off the burning stomach.

Yogurt is known to ease bowel movements and so buttermilk. Since buttermilk is less fat and contains calcium, potassium, and vitamin B12 makes this drink a great cleanser to detoxifies the body and cleanses the intestines, relieves constipation issues.

It is well known to handle stomach bloatedness hence a natural treatment against swelling, irritation and digestive disorders, and lack of appetite.
