Unspoken Bond

A note from an adopted daughter

You believed in me when I had lost faith in myself.
You saw a potential future for me when I had given up hope.
You stood behind me like a rock when I was ready to give up.
You kept me close, even when I was obnoxiously rude and disobedient.

Now you have gone, and I have no way to show my gratitude.
Now you will never see me thriving in my personal and professional life.
This is a thank you note for all the favors bestowed on me.
This note is an acknowledgment that you’re the reason for my success.

You never had the chance to meet the love of my life, whom you would have approved instantly.
You could not meet my children, whom you would have loved and adored.
Your kindness and love will always occupy a large part of my heart.
I promise to be a true believer in my potential and keep living the life you always dreamt for me.
