She twisted her hair anxiously, in the process she could see the sun light bounce off her split ends and made her pitch black hair look like it had light brown roots like a tree.

Devi had many habits that did her less good thought harm was at times debatable. She wanted to go for this movie for a very long time and didn’t have anyone to go with. More like in the past few months she pushed all her friends away, she didn’t know why but now she didn’t have as many friends she could be with. This movie was her chance to feel good again but she was scared to go on her own. Of course, she heard from all her friends how empowering it is to go for movies alone but now this time she couldn’t.

Her boyfriend promised to take her but some work or another came up, she felt miserable having to depend on someone other than her. She checked the timing again, it was for 6:30 pm, that means the movie would get over by 9:00pm which was ok for her to go home by then. The next show was of 8:30 pm and that would be very late for her. Being a guy is easy in such cases, actually in many cases so she felt. She took a deep breath and selected the 6:30 pm timing. Well, it was a house full.

Today was Sunday, she had work tomorrow and she gets free by 7:00 pm, no way she could get off early either. She started biting the outer skin layer of her lips now as the hair tugging was not enough. She took a deep breath and closed the app, no way she was going to get stressed out on this. She had a ton on her plate, to lose 20 kgs, find another job, start cooking and managing time etc. Some of which she was doing because she wanted to and not because her parents compared her to the unrealistic expectations set by society and the lies played by the cunning ones (that Sharmaji ka beta was the slyest of them all).

Lately Devi had been practicing to make a habit, with the help of her remaining 2 friends she had downloaded an app and took a promise to take some good habit up like walking every day or doing yoga. Linny’s barking broke her muddy thoughts. Poor baby Linny, she was the happiest dog out there and it broke her heart when Linny barked so that she could go out for a walk. Devi walked up to her make up box, basically an amazon box which contained a lot of her precious make up items. She had been practicing different looks. Devi believed that there are somethings that people should learn and do if it makes you happy. Art made Devi happy, make up was an art form. She remembered she used to sing, dance, draw and paint till she went to college. She misses the old Devi at times because she was very colorful despite being very unlucky.

She picked up the concealer brush and added some concealer on her eye lid. She was going to use her one palette she had, as she sifted through the neutrals and black and whites. She picked the only colorful palette she had and selected a neon green.
