The Night’s already at its darkest. Where’s the dawn?

Oh, so much for paranoia.

Contagion was #270 in the list of most-watched movies from Warner Bros. in December 2019 B.C (Before Corona).

It has risen to #2 only behind Harry Potter.

Only two other things have grown at a faster pace -

Frankly?

The memes on the Coronavirus;

WWE not postponing Wrestlemania scheduled for next week;

New York STILL not going into lockdown.

None of it.

And enough is enough.

Enough with the hoarding of toilet papers and hand sanitizers.

Enough with the same automated tune that tries to reassure how I can escape this faceless monster.

Enough with products trying to sell stickiness as freebies.

And all those positive spins and seizing the day with the new-found time?

They make sense in a world of the internet, books, and family.

For the rest?

It’s much more than just dodging the virus.

The girl who used to sweat it out at the tracks to shave off one second of her time?

She wants nothing more than a chance to run again.

That kid in the chaotic household whose only solace was his local football club?

He’s got nowhere to run.

You and I?

We’re in a refreshing experiment. For now.

But when this becomes the new normal, we’re staring at the barrel of a lot more self-isolation and desolation.

With only anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma for company.

Maybe now’s the time to think about the poor souls put into solitary?

But hey, that’s not us.

We have our Houseparty to get us through this.
